No matter how much you try to keep up with the latest technologies, social media networks, or gadgets, your kids manage to constantly stay a step ahead of you. With the introduction of the 2018 Honda Odyssey at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit, parents finally have a leg up.
Honda’s newest minivan is packed with technology to make in-vehicle communication easier and family travel less stressful. Among those features is something called Honda CabinWatch, which is so new that your kids don’t even know about it…maybe.
What is Honda CabinWatch?
Honda CabinWatch gives drivers the ability to see what’s going on in the backseats of the van through an 8-inch high-resolution display mounted in the center console of the 2018 Honda Odyssey. Using a mounted camera, CabinWatch makes keeping your kids in line much more efficient and safer. Rather than trying to turn your head back and forth in an attempt to keep your eyes on the road and on your misbehaving children, you can check in on them with a quick tap on your touchscreen display.
From the front seat, you can communicate with second- and third-row passengers and send your voice through the rear speakers or the rear entertainment headphones, if the kids are locked into a movie on the available 10.2-inch ceiling-mounted screen.
With a combination of CabinWatch and CabinTalk in the 2018 Honda Odyssey, you can mitigate the mischief that takes place in the rear seats, and ultimately, have a safer commute.
