2017 Honda Accord Power and Performance Specs
The new Honda Accord is just as powerful and fuel-efficient as it is practical and reliable. When choosing the 2017 Accord as you’re next new car you’ll have three engine options to choose from depending on which model and trim you decide to go with. The standard engine is a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that serves up 185 horsepower and 181 lb-ft of torque. When opting for the Accord Sport trim level, this engine will produce 189 horsepower thanks to its less restrictive exhaust system. All of that power is sent to the front wheels through your choice of either a six-speed manual transmission or Honda’s continuously variable transmission (CVT). The second engine in the lineup is a larger and more powerful 3.5-liter V6 that pushes out 278 horsepower and 252 lb-ft of torque. This engine also sends power to the front wheels, but uses a conventional six-speed automatic transmission to do so.
The third engine option is available in the new 2017 Honda Accord Hybrid. It is a two-motor hybrid system that uses one motor to help accelerate and one to help start its engine and charge the first motor. The 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is paired to two electric motors that get their power from a lithium-ion battery pack. They work together to put out a total of 212 horsepower to the front wheels through a continuously variable transmission.
