2018 Honda Odyssey Tech Features
When it comes to carrying people and stuff, nothing works as well as a minivan. We’ll concede that third-row SUVs, like the 2018 Honda Pilot, do a really good job, but there’s something about having so much wide open space reserved for cargo and passengers that has allowed minivans to keep their crown as family favorites.

Another reason families often choose minivans is their technology. With, especially young, children on board, entertainment is almost as important a feature as safety is. So if you’re shopping for a minivan, you’re probably looking at items like reliability (because nobody has time to spend half a day in a service center waiting room), fuel economy (because that money is better spent on a family vacation), safety (because it’s the MOST IMPORTANT) and technology.
When it comes to having family-minded technology, the 2018 Honda Odyssey features some of the most convenient and easy-to-use tech features on the market. Let’s take a look!
Infotainment on the 2018 Honda Odyssey
Honda’s infotainment system features a range of controllers and audio. Standard on the base LX trim, the 5″ color touchscreen can be upgraded to an 8″ display audio that features compatibility with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. This ensures a seamless transition between media on your smartphone or tablet and what is being played in the car.
The easy-to-understand Driver Information Interface allows drivers to change tracks and view important vehicle details while on the move.
Entertainment is at a peak for rear passengers who can take advantage of the 10.2″ BluRay Disc/digital media rear-seat entertainment system. This entertainment system outputs audio through the vehicle’s speakers, which can be upgraded to a premium 550-watt audio system, or headphones.
Children will also love the available How Much Farther?™ feature that uses navigation to show a vehicle’s progress and ETA on the rear entertainment screen.
What about parents?
Well, parents will enjoy the available CabinWatch™ and CabinTalk™ systems that provide more easy peacekeeping and communication than ever before. CabinWatch™ uses a ceiling-mounted camera to view the entire cabin of the 2018 Honda Odyssey. Best of all? It features infrared LEDs, so you’ll be able to see everybody even if it’s dark.
Like CabinWatch™, CabinTalk™ allows front seat driver and passenger to communicate with rear seat and third-seat riders through the headphones or rear speakers. Both of these features are standard on Touring and Elite models, with CabinTalk™ being standard on EX-L Navi/RES as well.

Standard on Touring and Elite models, older children and friends will appreciate the Wifi hotspot in the 2018 Honda Odyssey that allows you to connect up to five devices for internet browsing on the go.
Safety Technology on the 2018 Honda Odyssey
Available with Honda Sensing® suite of safety and driver assist features, the 2018 Odyssey provides maximum peace of mind for drivers and passengers alike. Honda Sensing® includes the following:
Lane Departure Warning (LDW) on the 2018 Honda Odyssey
Alerts you when you are crossing the lines that mark your traffic lanes.
Lane Keep Assist System (LKAS) on the 2018 Honda Odyssey
Using LDW, LKAS helps keep your 2018 Odyssey safely in the center of your traffic lane by alerting you and providing corrective steering should you begin to depart from the lane of traffic.
Road Departure Mitigation System (RDMS) on the 2018 Honda Odyssey
Like Lane Keeping Assist and Lane Departure Warning, Honda’s Road Departure Mitigation System senses if your vehicle is beginning to drift toward the side of the road. In the event that it does, your 2018 Honda Odyssey can provide mild corrective steering input and apply the brakes to keep you safely where you belong.
Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) on the 2018 Honda Odyssey
Through radar, Adaptive Cruise Control adjusts your cruising speed, helping you maintain a safe following distance with any vehicles in front of you and decreasing the likelihood of a rapid stop collision.
Forward Collision Warning (FCW) on the 2018 Honda Odyssey
Forward Collision Warning uses a small camera to detect vehicles in front of you that have come to a stop. Audio and visual alerts are activated if the system determines a collision with a rapid stop vehicle in front of you is likely.
Collision Mitigation Braking System™ (CMBS™) on the 2018 Honda Odyssey
When a collision is detected and Forward Collision Warning has been engaged, Collision Mitigation Braking System™ can help your vehicle come to a stop before impact, either avoiding or decreasing the severity of a forward collision.
